9 year Renewal of your CWI with 80 PDH – with no risk of losing your certification!
Per AWS QC 1 2007 (section 16) / AWS B5.1 2003 (section 8) – you can have 80 hours of training - classroom contact hours or long distance correspondence (Professional Development Hours = PDH) completed on approved class content provided by an approved facility (Son Set Consultants is an approved training facility) and after completion - simply submit my completion certificate that I will issue you after completion of the training along with your 9 year renewal application (and fee to the AWS) for 9 year CWI renewal without having to take the Practical Exam for renewal. You are required to have 80 hours of training. 40 hours of the training can be completed anytime during the 9 year period, however the remaining 40 hours of training shall be completed within the last three years of your 9 year certification. At the completion of your training I will issue you a certificate that is acknowledged by the AWS as sufficient for the 80PDH requirement.

Method
OPTION 2: 9-YEAR RECERTIFICATION BY EXEMPTION:
CONTINUING EDUCATION: This option is for those inspectors who have kept themselves up-to-date in the field of inspection by attending classes and seminars related to the field of welding inspection.
A minimum of 80 PDH (Professional Development Hour) earned during the nine year certification period,
20 PDH earned in the last three-year period is required.
A PDH (Professional Development Hour) is no less than 50 minutes of personal interaction between a learner and instructor. Contact implies two-way communication in order for the learner to receive feedback. Son Set Consultants CWI 9 year renewal 80 PDH computer based On-Line training is two way communication (you take training and exams on-line – we see your scores and respond).

A maximum of 80 PDH are allowed for any one course and no course may be repeated for credit within any three year period.
